Self Care Summer

selfcare summer yoga Jul 02, 2024

Welcome to the Summer of Self Care

Where you put yourself first, find the joy, glimmers, gratitudes in the little moments, do what you love, spend time how you want and with who you want. It’s being authentically YOU. Because when we show up for ourselves, we better show up for others. And as women, mothers, nurturers, we continue to show up and care for others, so before that, take care of you.

This is what a self care summer looks like: Completing those small, daily rituals that essentially guide us, and become us, that show ourselves love. Maybe it's a simple skin care routine, or a quiet walk, going to a movement class. I want you to grab your journal, or pause and reflect on the following:

What are your values?

How do you like to spend your time?

How do you actually spend your time?

What are your priorities?

How do you want to FEEL today?

What do you want to accomplish in 2024?

It’s going to be a busy summer. Stop and appreciate the joys, the laughter, the memories.

How am I going to incorporate a self care summer?

  • Wake up early - prioritize my time, my daily foundational rituals before the kids wake up. What is my morning ritual? Coffee, always. Then journal, read, move, get ready for the day.
  • Outdoor movement daily. Walks, runs, bike rides, hikes.
  • Notice and find gratitude in the glimmers, the daily joys, the moments of self care.
  • Daily progress towards my goals and dreams.

This quarter (July-September) I am using a planner from West Coast Dreaming. It’s giving me the simple, daily creative activity I desire. I am using it to not only track my schedule, but prioritize my time, track goals, books, mood, habits, and gives you the space to move pages around and make it your own. Highly recommend this planner. Check it out here: https://westcoastdreaming.com/

If you are local to Sooke, BC OR are in town for the July 13 weekend, Join me at Little Wildings, our cute local childrens store for a Self Care evening. Where we will not only have a soul nourishing yoga practice, but have time to journal, reflect and connect.
